In our window dressing project at Setthasiri village, we've incorporated a combination of curtains and blinds, offering a variety of transparencies and styles. 

For the living and dining areas on the main floor, we selected gray-black color triple pinch pleat curtains to align with the customer’s preference for darker shades that coordinate with their furniture. During daylight hours, the blackout curtains can be drawn back, while the sheer curtains remain closed to obscure the view from the outside, ensuring privacy.

At the staircase, we've installed black wooden blinds, an ideal choice for decorating the compact windows in this limited space. These blinds are not only easy to operate but also serve as a stylish, space-efficient solution.

Upstairs, the three bedrooms are outfitted with dimout curtains in darker tones. The darker the fabric is, the more effective they are at blocking light, providing a significant level of darkness needed for sleep without a need to full blackout curtains. The dimout fabric, known for its softness, provides a more refined and graceful look compared to blackout curtains. Hence, when our clients prefer darker hues for their bedroom curtains and the room's decor is suited to such shades, we typically recommend dimout curtains that offer substantial light-blocking capabilities as an alternative to traditional blackout drapes. 

This project was undertaken on a house designed in the traditional European-style house with a steep, symmetrical gable roof at Boulevard Chaengwattana 2, Bangkok. The aim was clear-cut: to improve the windows in a way that matches the lovely structure of the home and to make sure that the window treatments are pleasing to the eye as well as practical for those living in the house.

Simple and Smart Design

The idea was to choose window covers that looked good and were practical. Each room got a special treatment that matched its style. Curtains and blinds were chosen for their ability to allow light to filter through during the day while providing privacy when required by implementing two-layer curtains. The inner layer of sheer fabric for added versatility and light filtering under light-blocking curtains in a light color tone.

 Picking the Right Materials and Colors

The materials and colors for the curtains were chosen carefully, mostly in light color tones. They needed to look good and complement the interior of the house but also robust enough to stand the test of time. Every curtain and blinds were custom-made to ensure an exact fit and to coordinate seamlessly with the room's color scheme and design.

More Than Just Looks

The curtains do more than just look nice. They also help keep the house cool and give people a way to control how much light gets in. Some rooms have thicker curtains to block out more light, but they still match the rest of the house.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, the window project at Bangkok Boulevard Chaengwattana 2 has made a big difference. The right curtains and blinds have not only made the house look better but also made it more comfortable for the people living there. The new, elegant curtains have transformed the space, adding warmth and character. This change is more than just visual – the residents are really happy with the new feel of their home, which now feels cozier and more inviting.

The focus of this project is on one of the tallest curtains ever installed by Cher Decor. The successful completion of this tall, automated window dressing was made possible by the close collaboration between our designer, production, and installation departments. Nevertheless, the installation team at Cher Decor deserves recognition for their exceptional skills in bringing this masterpiece to life at The City Sukhumvit - On Nut village in Bangkok.

For this specific project and its double-ceiling room with tall windows, our task was to put up long curtains in an area with a ceiling that was more than twice the height of a standard room. Considering the exceptional height and the associated challenges in manual operation, we knew that a standard approach would not be the best option for drawing curtains open or close. To enable homeowners to open and close the curtains easily at any time with the touch of a button, we decided to motorize the curtains by installing a mechanical device. This was achieved by integrating a Somfy motor on these long and heavy drapes. The choice of the Somfy was explicitly for its superior performance and minimal noise, ensuring smooth operation when drawing the curtains open or closed.

To receive and achieve both natural light and privacy, we incorporated two layers of curtains in our design. The first layer consisted of sheer curtains with an S-curve design to enhance both privacy and aesthetics. For the second layer, we used dim-out curtains in a tannish color to further increase privacy and block out light when necessary. Additionally, this second layer was chosen to complement the home's furniture and overall interior design.

Once we had successfully completed the installation of the curtains for the double-height space, we went on to design and install curtains for the other windows in the home. However, the most thrilling aspect of the project was creating pink color curtains for the window situated behind the makeup vanity table and its mirror in the makeup room. The end result was truly captivating and perfectly complemented the makeup room and its overall ambiance.
